When we talk about Myanmar beauty, Thakana is the first answer in my mind. When you read magazines or see documentary about Myanmar, you will see all girl and Myanmar women always apply Thanaka powder on their face.

Thanaka is yellow white paste that comes from Thanaka tree, in Myanmar market sells Thanaka logs and paste powder including Thanaka cream. Some cosmetic product also adds Thanaka as ingredient because Thanaka help to prevent acne, control oil on your skin, protect skin from sun and also improving your skin.

Kyauk pyin 

Myanmar female always paste Thanaka log with Kyauk pyin stone to grinding then mix with water and ware on their face.
I got Thanaka products from my friend when he went to Myanmar. That was the first time I used Thanaka product, actually I already knew about Thanaka products but I never tried it because it’s very hard to find pure Thanaka in Bangkok. 
I got Thanaka pure power and cream, also loose powder. I really like these products, after I apply Thanaka about 2-3weeks I feel my skin is smoother and brighter, my acne also reduce.

I use Thanaka cream as make up base which is matte my skin before I use foundation. After I finish make up, I use Thanka loose powder to set up my make up that could make my make up stay longer. Sometime I apply only Thanaka cream when I have no make up. For Thanaka pure power I add to my homemade facial mask recipe.

I mix Thanaka powder with honey and yogurt to make a facial mask, then leaves on my face for 10-15 minutes. After rinse off, follow with toner and moisturizer.

I really like Thanaka products but unfortunately I can’t find pure Thanaka in Bangkok. If you have a chance to go Myanmar, don’t forget to buy Thanaka. :)

ZA True White Power Block UV Sunscreen

I have pore and oily skin, it’s very hard to find any sunscreen that suits me, I ever tried many sunscreens but some are clogged my pore cause acne. Until I found ZA True White Power Block UV Sunscreen, It’s the one of my best item to use everyday.  

This sunscreen could hold up the oil on my face very well. Acne doesn’t occur because it isn’t clogging my pores.

Texture is white creamy and quite thick consistency, but easy to blend on your skin. After I blend on my face, it doesn’t thick as you ware a white mask. I feel my face is brighter. It seems to use as make up base and help make up stay longer. This sunscreen leaves my face matte almost all day. I also recommend to my friend and she also loves it.

I see the ingredients behind the label, it’s very interesting, and you can see the Sun SPF for this product is quite high. There are SPF40 PA+++ which can protect your skin from UVB and UVA, also including Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide which make your skin brighter and Vitamin E which has many benefits for the skin. 

Overall of this product in my opinion is very good, by the way you should use some moisturizer to treat your skin and don’t lazy to washing make up cleanly. If you never use this product before you can ask BA for a tester or buy a small package to try first (I bought a small package from 7-11store in my country).

How do you clean your face? Everyone have same process to clean their face but are you sure that your pore are cleanse enough. Have you ever felt that there is some oil on your face after you wash your face especially oily skin? Today I have an alternative way to clean your pore deeply, this process I call “washing face along hair follicle”.

Cleansing face along the hair follicle can reduces the occurrence of acne on the face. Because it can eliminate oil on pore and unclog your pore. Although face washing can not make acne disappear, this cleansing method can use together with acne treatment.

Some people say that this method make acnes appear more but the acne will reduce after you continue do for several months (at least 3 months). This method has invented by MD. Somnuek Amornsiripanitch followers Dr. James J Nordlund , where he was a student of Aron Lerner of Yale professor.

How is important?

There are about 100,000 hair follicles on your face, under the skin have many core fiber collagen and elastin ties to connect network to maintain skin elasticity and strength. Washing face along hair follicle is advantages to drain the oil and dirt in the pore cleanly. Also help blood circulation under your skin face circulate naturally. Blemish also occur difficultly, and reduce inflammation cell, no swelling on skin layer.

Washing face on circulation motion is like we rub a tissue on hand as we mold the dough ball that cause pore clogged and occur comedone.

Michael Todd True Organic: Acne Or Oily Skin Regimen

Last 2 topics I talked about mask and toner from Michael Todd. Today I would like to review set of acne or oily skin regimen and priority of product usage. 
I decide to use this acne set because I want to control my acne and prevent acne come again. I think I don’t want to use Benzac and differin for long term just for short term to kill acne is OK, so I’m looking for daily product for my facial then I interest in Michael Todd and take decision to buy it.
When I opened parcel post I saw my product and thought that the size was very big and affordable.
 After I use about 3 months, I feel my skin is improving my face is smoother. This set I can use about 3 months that very cheap.

The acne set contain charcoal detox gel cleanser, Blue green algae toner, Antiox serum, Kaolin clay mask and Jojobar charcoal facial scrub.

Now I would like to talk about the sequence to use this product.

Step 1: Wash your face with charcoal detox gel cleanser, you just use only half bump is enough because this gel is very strength (my opinion). Gently massage on circular motion about 3-5 minutes then rinse off with warn water and follow with cold water to close the pore.

Step2: Drop amount toner onto cotton pad then gently wipe over your face and neck.

Step3: Apply 2-3 drops serum to face and neck.

Step4 (weekly): After clean your face, apply facial scrub, gently massage in circular motion for 5-10 minutes then rinse off.

Step5 (weekly): After scrub your face, apply mask on face and neck, leave on for 10-15 minutes then rinse off. Follow with toner and serum for best result. You can mask 2-3 times per week.

Michael Todd True Organic: Blue Green Algae Toner

Last topic I reviewed about Kaolin clay mask from Michael Todd. This topic I would like to review toner as I ever promise in a short review.

The Blue Green Algae Toner is contained in Acne or Oily Skin Regimen Set. This product is clear water but smell like green tea and lavender (the smell is good I like this smell). When I apply on my face, I feel a little bit burn and cooling especially in acne area. I always drop 2-3 drops on cotton pad and put it on my red spot.   After use for 2 weeks I notice that my pimples are clear and redness circle are reduced and disappear.

How to use?

-          After washing your face, drop toner 2-3drops on cotton pad then wipe over face and neck gently. Then follow with moisturizer and serum.

-          If you have red spot, drop toner on clean cotton pad and put on red spot then leave on 5-10 minutes. After 2-3 days, the pimple will dry and redness will be cleared.

Michael Todd True Organic: Kaolin Clay Mask

A few months ago I was interest in organic product for my skin. I discovered Michael Todd on my local website. Michael Todd is the products from USA, there are cleanser, toners, mask, and serum. My favorite item is facial mask and toners. (I will review later for toner)   

  

I ordered Michael Todd: Acne or Oily Skin Regimen Set from website when I received and saw the products, I thought the price was reasonable with size and quantity.

I search about other review and some side effects then I know that this product will push the chemical and comedone under my skin, this process I call “detoxify”.

The Kaolin Clay Mask is a detoxifying facial mask cooling and detoxifying treatment. It is truly organic mask, texture and color looks like clay also smelling like clay. When I apply on my face on first 5 minutes, I feel my face is a lit bit burn and itchy and cooling. It’s normal because I already searched the effect that is the process of detoxify. 

After 90 days I check my skin and see that my pore look smaller and my skin face is brighter and smoother. I think the price the size and quality is reasonable and affordable.

How To Use?

You should apply an even layer over face and neck after cleansing and avoid eye and lip area. Then leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse off. After that, follow with toner and serum. May be used 2-3 times a week.

Cetaphil

Cetaphil is very gentle cleansing, non bubble and rich moisturizer. It’s free fragrance and suit for all skin type especially sensitive skin. I knew Cetaphil when I was in the hospital and I got condition that couldn’t take a shower or washing face then the nurse recommended me to use Cetaphil. It’s very gentle even you don’t rinse cleansing off or just pat off with cotton pads.   

First time, I’m quite unsatisfied with this cleanser because I don’t think its work. It’s nothing happen like you pat your face with water. After use about 3-4 weeks, my skin begin clear and healthy until now I’m very satisfy.

How To Use?

Step 1. Remove make-up with remover

Step 2. Soak your face with warm or cool water

Step 3. Apply cetaphil cleanser with clean hands gently rubbing in circular more than 2 minute (I take 5-10minutes)

Step 4. Pat with a cotton pad removes excess cleanser

Step 5. Apply daily moisturizer or serum.

Hiruscar Gel

After rid off comedone it’s sure that you will have dark scar from acne on your face. My favorite item to heal these scars is Hiruscar gel. This isn’t only use healing scar from operation or keloid scar. It’s clear gel and very gentle and also apply on your face and suit for any skin types even you have sensitive skin. 

How to use?

Apply on your face 3-4 times a day and should apply the gel before applying moisturizer or makeup.

Main Ingredients 

-          MPS (Mucopolysaccharide Polysulphate) helps softened scar and speeds up the productivity of hyaluronic acid that increases skin cells ability to retain moisture.

-          Allium Cepa helps to reduce size of scar and black mark and also prevent the building of excessive tissue

-          Allantoin helps speeds up the peeling process and adds more moisture to the skin.

-          Aloe Vera helps to prevents progressive skin damage and wound healing.

-          Vitamin B3 &Vitamin E
Vitamin B3 helps adjusts skin tone and dissipates black marks. Vitamin E is a rich moisturizer and is an anti-oxidant.

Differin gel (adapalene)

Differin gel(Adapalene) is a retinoid that works under the skin to unclog pores, clear the acne and help prevent future breakouts.
I always use Differin gel together with Benzac 2.5%. In the evening I use Banzac before wash my face, after I wash my face and apply toner then apply Differin gel only on acne area and leave it overnight.

 

Differin Gel should be applied to the acne affected areas once a day and after washing, avoiding the eyes and lips area. Ensure that the affected areas are dry before application.

By the way, Differin Gel have some side effect during you use Differin gel, your skin will get dry and peeling. Therefore you should apply moisturizes or face serum on day time. Remember!! Differin gel should be use only once a day.

In first 6-8 weeks you will see there are more acne appears on your face that means Differin is pushing comedone under your skin. Therefore please be patient in this process for the best result in the future. This effect just occurs in short time and a few cases.

 Before use Differin gel please consult with dermatologist to assess your skin type especially sensitive skin.

Benzac AC gel

Benzac AC gel is the product from Australia, in my acne’s experience it’s the one of the best item to rid off acne.

How do I know Benzac?

  I had a problem about Comedone because of make up and cosmetics. When I went to see Dermatologists, they recommended me to use Benzac together with their treatment. The result takes time about 3months that very satisfied me, even I don’t go to see Dermatologists. Now I still use Benzac and it’s my favorite item. I think it’s really work to kill pimple.You can find Benzac at drug store near your house, the price isn’t expensive (there are 2 strength available in drug store 2.5%and5%).

Ingredient active is Benzoyl peroxide that helps unblock pore and kill acne bacteria within 48 hours.

Benzac AC is available in 3 different strength gels (2.5%, 5%,10%) but in Thailand store have only 2.5%and 5% and only available from drug store and it’s important that you have to discuss with your pharmacist which strength of Benzac AC will best suit you. In my opinion 2.5% and 5% aren’t difference. 

How to use it?

1.Wash your face with a mild skin cleanser and water then gently pat skin dry.

2.Apply a thin film of Benzac AC Gel on your face except eye and mouth area, leaving on the skin for 10-15 minutes is enough because you will feel burn on your face. In first time usage, you should leave on your face about 5 minutes or as long as you can, then washing off with water then gently pats skin dry.

3.After washing your face doesn’t forget to apply moisturizer which won’t clog pores.

After 7 days, if there is no skin peeling or redness, you can apply Benzac AC Gel twice a day, morning and night but I think once a day is enough. The period that you will need to use Benzac AC Gel will depend on how quickly your condition improves.
